Creative Growth Art Center in Oakland, California, is the world’s first and largest nonprofit center dedicated to giving artists with disabilities the space to let their talents shine. Since 1974, the center has served hundreds of artists with developmental, mental and physical disabilities who lacked formal education in the arts.

Disability (Is Not a Bad Word) is a peer-led space to build support and friendship. Virtual meetings on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of every month from 6:30PM-8PM EST.

For more than 30 years, Superfest has celebrated cutting-edge cinema that portrays disability through a diverse, complex, unabashed, and engaging lens.  

This showcase, presented by the UCSF Office for Disability Access and Inclusion in partnership with the Paul K. Longmore Institute on Disability, highlights some short films from previous Superfest festivals that explore the intersections of disability identity, health equity in times of pandemics and climate change, and ableism in the healthcare system.”
